The Top 7 Ways You Can Help Save The Environment

As we all know Global warming is a major issue in today's society and we need to take an initiative and help make our world a"Greener" place.

What you can do to help:
1... To help lessen the CO2 emissions in the air that contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer you can use alternate ways of transportation by walking, biking, car pooling, and public transit buses.
2...When you go shopping take reusable bags with you to lessen the amount of plastics in our landfills because plastics take years to decay.
3...Grow plants that are indigenous to your area to help the environment
4...Turn off any lights or appliances when not in use to help save energy
5...Get rid of any old appliances in your house because they give off CFC into the atmosphere that are harmful and contribute to global warming.
6...Create a compost and put your food or plant scraps into it.
7...When purchasing items at the store buy the ones with less packaging so there is less garbage in our local landfills.

Journal #1 Angels and Demons

"Antimatter creates no pollution or radiation, and a droplet could power New York City for a full day." In the novel Angels and Demons by Dan Brown the idea of antimatter existing is unbelievable. Antimatter is the key to solving the lack of power through out the world and stoping pollution that would harm our planet. Before ever reading this novel I didn't know it was possible to create something so efficient. Just like everything else in the world it has good and bad consequences. Antimatter is highly unstable and can explode when coming into contact with anything even air. Exposing antimatter would help aid many of the world's problems but when placed in the wrong hands can be dangerous to society. The power of antimatter is so great that it would set fear over society not knowing who has control over the substance and where it would be kept that it would be safe. Scientists who created antimatter didn't have the intentions of creating something that could possibly destroy the human race. When the atomic bomb was being created the powers of the world were on a race to see who could be the first to create it. Just like the atomic bomb it would create many issues on who creates it and whos using it. If antimatter became stable and didn't ignite with anything we would be able to use the substance as a magor energy source across the world.

My Terrible Experience

I recently ate lunch at the new Taco Bell and KFC it was a terrible experience. As soon as I arrived the line up was out the door. They had one till open at lunch time. We waited for 20 minutes in the line up until ordering. While we were waiting for our food the girl behind the till was continuing to take orders and ran out of change. She handed out the wrong change to people and waited till someone gave her change to give to customers that were waiting for their food. There was clearly not enough staff making the food. The chaos was just about to get worse when the girl running the drive through realized she was handing the wrong food out the window to customers. The manager was ordering people around and getting angry which was not helping the situation. The stress level was high after 35 minutes they called my number and I final got my food. When I politely told the man that the order was "to go" he through the bag on the counter and expected me to bag it. After leaving the crazy place I went to take a bite of my food and it was cold. The food had no flavour and was bland. After my experience I will not go back until they are more organized, hire more staff and the excitement of the new restaurant calms down.

The Perils of Indifference

The Perils of Indifference means the risk of not caring. The ending of "The Lottery" tells the graphic violence of the stoning that seemed so normal to the community because they had been doing if for their entire life's. They believe that what they are doing is the normal thing they don't see that it is wrong. During the holocaust the people that were inflicting pain and killing people did not realize how wrong it was and that people are equal. These people were all ordinary individuals that weren't born killers. Black people were isolated from society with no rights. People looked at black people with discussed and treated them with no respect because of their race. Black people were considered poor and used for hard labour at this time because they were a different race. Elie Wiesel's speech relates to "The Lottery" because the people in the community were oblivious to what was really happening. They didn't ask questions about the stoning it was a ritual that had lost its meaning over time. In Elie's speech he states that the government new about what was going on but didn't take action until later.

Ignorance is Bliss

Society has many flaws that we may or may not know about. Individuals tend to ignore different issues because they don't want to take responsibility for the truth. People don't want to donate money or sacrifice their own belongings to help others in need. In the story about the slaughter house the cleaning people fell into the machines and died could have easily be fixed by paying for safer equipment. Individuals in society don't care about issues unless they personally affect them.

Flaws Create True Beauty

I agree that a flaw is necessary for true beauty because if everybody was flawless then nobody would be unique. Having a flaw makes that person original and stand out amongst a group of people. In society people judge on physical appearance if you have distinct physical trait and look different then others you are noticed more. A flaw is an imperfection that creates character in someone and makes them beautiful. People who are natural and have flaws are truelly beautiful.

My Blogging Ideas

Here we are again another day of blogging about the boring topic that Mrs. Searcy gave us. If we could only have the simple decision of being able to choose our own topics to blogg about life would be so much easier. I think having the choice of either writting about the dull topic Mrs. Searcy gives us to write about or to write about what ever your heart desires would be more intriguing. Everybody has different interests and I assume you will get better results if we are able to choose our own topic. Their are some people that like to write about the media, celebrities lives and music, others enjoy writting on more serious topics. If we all write on various topics you will get more interesting results and not all on the same subject. I think it should be on open ended topics that could be interpreted in many ways that people would enjoy writting about like celebrites or fashion.

Bloggs should be marked by the students in class if they have completed their blogg they get a mark and for their creative ideas. We should have to choose someone beside us or on our list and read their blogg and add comments. This would allow us to link to other people and interact by reading and writting on their blogg. After reading we will send our comments and ideas to help them improve and a mark out of 5 for completion.
